Beamagine is one of the companies participating in the project ‘Design and Construction of a Concept Test for LIDAR for Use in Autonomous Submarine Vehicles’ (BEACON). This project aims to design and build a proof of concept for a LIDAR system for autonomous underwater vehicles. The proposed system will use laser technology and sensors to detect and map the underwater environment, enabling the autonomous vehicle to navigate safely and accurately without human intervention.

The project is part of the “Support for Innovative Business Clusters” program of the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, and will be developed in close collaboration with the companies Radiantis and Subsea Mechatronics,  the technological Centre Centre for the Development of Sensors, Instruments and systems at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC-CD6), and the cluster SECPhO.
