Beamagine SL has won a project in the Call “Startup Capital”, financed by the “Agència per a la Competivitat de l’Empresa”, ACCIÓ, starting on date of October 31st, 2017. Beamagine acknowledges the support received from ACCIÓ, which also helped to push forward the technology through its project VALTEC2013-1-0035 in the past. With this support, Beamagine is deploying the commercialization strategy of a 3D image sensor based on lidar technology for the maritime market. A lidar canera measures distances by counting the time between the emission and reception of pulses. The system that Beamagine uses has unique features in the market, since it works with daylight and generates a very dense point cloud without moving parts. Beamagine’s solution has a large potential in different types of vessels, either as a warning sensor for avoiding collision or targetting autnomous navigation at sea. This project will enable the construction of a lidar camera specially suited for the maritime market, and to present it in different trade fairs.
