At Beamagine we develop advanced turnkey sensor solutions for all types of autonomous vehicles and smart infrastructures.
Our L3CAM units provide users with a seamlessly integrated sensing solution by merging our proprietary solid-state 3D LIDAR with a user-selectable combination of cameras like RGB, thermal, or polarimetric, all in a small-size casing. Further, L3CAM is a high-resolution LIDAR providing one of the densest point clouds you may find in the market in a single frame. Simplify your developments for demanding applications avoiding tedious optical calibrations and mechanical integrations.
L3CAM is the ideal tool for advanced applications based on 3D LIDAR object detection Our 3D solid state LIDAR performs perfectly in daytime and nighttime, and in all weather conditions. The complementary imaging modes are fused transparently to the user providing an outstanding set of congruent images that overcomes the typical limitations of single-sensor solutions. For example, stable performance in all ambient conditions, such as day & night, and all weather (rain, fog, dust, and snow) thanks to the complementarity of its imaging modes and our proprietary LIDAR camera fusion technology.
Additionally, the unit comes with a high-performance embedded computer for edge computing functionalities, ready for perception AI enabling on-camera point cloud processing. The multimodal approach of the L3CAM enables a new paradigm in terms of strategies for image-based 3D AI that achieves unique performance, reducing drastically the false detections while achieving confidence values above 98%. The L3CAM hardware unit can be provided as a turnkey solution jointly with the embedded AI for perception and point cloud processing.
Our customers use LIDAR object detection in several markets. LIDAR railway applications involve early detection in all-weather conditions of obstacles in the path of the train or TRAM using on-board train detection sensors, for emergency braking or mapping for maintenance uses in most cases. LIDAR railway applications often require railway sensor systems with several imaging modes to perform in all weather conditions.
Space LIDAR applications, instead, tolerate lower frame rates but need to handle space conditions and handle extreme illumination conditions, and are usually very demanding regarding space LIDAR spatial resolution. Smart city LIDAR applications, on their side, use the ability of LIDAR to sense properly in complex 3D spaces and geometries.
Marine LIDAR applications enable small object detection for collision prevention supported by 3D AI perception. All of them (in particular smart city LIDAR use cases) improve their reliability with the use of multiple imaging modes, with complementary failure modes. Beyond railway sensor systems, ADAS LIDAR systems, and space LIDAR units, several other applications (aeronautics, marine, underwater, automotive, defense, logistics, robotics…) have taken advantage of the fact that LIDAR object detection becomes easier when you train complex AI models based in deep learning for 3D perception, using early and late sensor fusion approaches, with sensor fusion LIDAR cameras which embed multiple imaging modes.
If you need more advanced functionalities, we are LIDAR manufacturers since 2016 with customers from automotive to defense. We have been building tailored developments to our customers in markets like automotive, defense, space, railway, logistics, and robotics. We can prototype your system from small series to large volumes, and help you define your specs to take the best of the world of sensor fusion LIDAR cameras. We can also support you at the software side, either with point cloud processing or with 3D perception based on AI. Just tell us what do you need to sense in the 3D or 2D world so we can tell you how.
